New Delhi, Jan 2 (KNN) In an effort to enhance domestic manufacturing and lower imports, the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) has proposed a Draft Quality Control Orders in respect of Potable water bottles and Insulated flask.
The date of enforcement is yet to be revealed as the department was open for suggestions and feedback until December 31, 2022.
After consulting the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS), that Potable water bottles and Insulated flask shall bear the Standard Mark under a licence from the Bureau as per Scheme-I of Schedule-I I of the Bureau of Indian Standards (Conformity Assessment) Regulations, 2018.
This Order is not applicable for goods or articles meant for export, read the notification.
The Bureau shall be the certifying and enforcing authority for the goods or articles specified.
Any person who contravenes the provisions of this Order shall be punishable under the provisions of the Bureau of Indian Standards Act, 2016.
The lndian Standard for Potable water bottles is 17803:2022 and the Tittle of Indian Standard is (Copper, stainless Steel, Aluminium).
Insulated flask for domestic use, the lndian Standard is 17790:2022 and for Domestic stainless steel vacuum flask/bottle it is 17526:2021. (KNN Bureau)
